Released in 1942, Bambi was Walt Disney's fifth animated feature film. In honor of the film's 75th Anniversary, the New Zealand Mint has produced a beautifully designed coin struck from 1/4 Troy oz. 9999 fine gold, issued by the nation of Niue. Mintage of the enchanting proof is limited to just 1,000.

Bambi and friends in a remarkably detailed scene. Among a landscape littered with flowers and leaves, forest friends Thumper the rabbit, Flower the skunk, and Bambi are featured on the reverse, as they watch a butterfly alight on Bambi's tail.

Inscriptions include "DISNEY BAMBI" above, with "1/4 OZ 9999 FINE GOLD" below. Sculptor Ian Rank-Broadley's classic likeness of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II appears on the obverse, encircled by the inscriptions "ELIZABETH II, " "NIUE, " "25 DOLLARS" and 2017.
